Kiosk in Nemo

We once again had a great team turn out to help with an important project: a kiosk to post our club and educational information near trail 89 in Nemo. See the pictures here!

The kiosk and location was generously donated by Troy and Willie Saye, owners of the Nemo Guest Ranch. They have been strong supportors of the ORA--they recognize the importance of a responsible riding group and the effect we can have on riders who might otherwise cause problems in this important key community. Like it or not, Nemo is at the crossroads of the proposed trail system. It has been, and will continue to be an important connector to the Black Hills Trail System on the USFS. It all began here, and we must do our part to make it a success.

Trail 89 repair

Thank you for your help repairing trail 89! This part of the Centenial Trail is the only motorized trail we have in our Black Hills, and therefore it gets a lot of use. And overuse! The popularity of this trail shows us how important motorized recreation is in this area. Trail 89 is a model of what our designated trail system will be like, when we get it next year. It also illustrates how important sufficient mileage is to the system--to few miles result in overuse and necessary repairs like the work we will continue to do on this section.
